Each element is unique to a share of music, it helps distinguish pieces from one another and makes particular tracks field of study. This essay aims to analyse and synthesise these elements, as well as the production values of the poesy Of Prometheus and the Crucifix from Triviums get in album Shogun. Trivium was formed in 1999, in Orlando, Florida. A 4 piece alloy striation; the group is made up of frontman and guitar player Matthew Kichii Heafy, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Corey Beaulieu and bassist, Paolo Gregoletto. Travis smith performed thrum duties from 1999 to 2009, when personal issues forced him to leave the band. The Floridian grindcore drummer, Nick Augusto, replaced Travis in the February of 2010. To date, the band has released four studio albums; three on the strenuous metal label, Roadrunner Recor ds, eleven singles and twelve music videos. Their latest album, Shogun, was released in September 2008. With a running period of 440, Of Prometheus and the Crucifix is the second shortest song on Shogun. The song deals with the similarities between the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ and the pang of the classic titan, Prometheus.
Shogun showcased a channelise from Triviums habitual lyric themes of government activity and controversy, towards ancient Japanese and Greek Mythology. In context, Of Prometheus fits perfectly when mated with songs such as Torn in the midst of Scylla and Charybdis and He Who Spawned the Furies. Their debut album, Ember to Inferno (2003, Lifeforce Records), is a combination of metalcore emit and down-picked, thrash metal guitars.
